Made for the love of making.
A friendly local shop for people who love yarn, thread, fabric crafts and the satisfaction of creating something by hand.
At The Needlecraft Shop, we believe that a good craft shop is about more than what sits on the shelves. It's about finding the right materials, sharing ideas and helping people feel confident about the things they want to make.
Whether you're an experienced knitter, an enthusiastic stitcher, returning to a favourite hobby or trying needlecraft for the first time, we want you to feel welcome. Sometimes you arrive with a pattern and a plan; sometimes you just need a little inspiration. Either way, your next project can start with a conversation.
A Beccles shop with a long story
The Needlecraft Shop has been part of Beccles for around 60 years. In 2024, the shop's future looked uncertain when it was announced that it was set to close. Following a delay, there was happier news: the shop reopened, keeping a familiar specialist needlecraft resource available to local makers.
That story is part of what makes independent shops special. A local craft shop is not simply a place to buy yarn and thread; it is somewhere people can ask questions, compare colours, get advice and keep skills alive from one generation to the next.

A place for every kind of maker
Our shop in Beccles brings together supplies for a range of traditional needlecrafts, including knitting, crochet, embroidery and tapestry. From choosing colours and textures to finding the small essentials that help a project come together, we're here to help you make the most of your time creating.
Keeping craft alive, one stitch at a time
Needlecraft connects generations. It can be a quiet moment at the end of a busy day, a handmade present for someone special, a new skill to learn or a reason to sit down and chat with other people. We love being part of that world and welcoming people who share that enthusiasm.
